This story tells us about the revenge of 47 ronin, which is a leaderless samurai. Japanese historians was describing this story as a National Legend, which represented the samurai code of honor, Bushido.
The story began when lord Asano Nagaori ( the leader of the 47 ronin ) was forced to commit a sepukku for attacking Kira Yoshinaka, a rude and arrogant master of ceremony, in Edo castle.
After the sepukku of their leader, the loyal 47 ronin are waiting for a year and planning a raid to kill Kira.
On Snowy day, the 47 Ronin strike Kira's mansion and make everyone surprise. In this raid, Kira was killed by the 47 Ronin as the revenge for their master's death. After killing Kira, they went to their master's grave and turned themselves in to the authorities. For commiting a murder, the 47 Ronin were requested by the Shogun to commit Sepukku too.

Today in Japan, the 47 Ronin are regarded by the Japanese people as 'Cultural Heroes' and they are honored in traditional holidays and in countless kabuki plays, movies, novels and manga.
